Learning argentinian tango in Paris

in the 11th arrondissement (near by the 20th and 12th)

Learning tango is for us a long way: it is the discovery of a dance, of a music, of a culture. After our vocational training in Buenos Aires and in Paris, we dedicate several years of practice and reflection to construct our pedagogy. We chose a former parisian "Atelier", to the crossing of three arrondissements , the 11th, 20th and 12th arrondissement, to give our lessons of tango in Paris. In this beautiful space transformed into a dance school, we will receive you thursdays evening to share our experience and our passion.

Regular Classes, classes A (beginners) and B (intermediate/advanced), begin Wednesday, September 8th 2021.
For hour and location, look in schedule infra.

Introductary Workshop take place Saturday 28th, Sunday 29th and monday 30th august 2021. Contact us for information.

In our Beginners Course (A course), you learn how to :

In the Intermediate / Advanced Course (Course B) we also teach:

  • the ease, harmony and elegance of the tango movement, which remain a priority for us, especially in the more complex figures;
  • the freedom to interpret and improvise figures in relation to music;
  • the differences between the styles "milonguero", "salón" and "nuevo", between the abrazos open and closed, between the three dances of the Argentine ball (tango, milonga, vals argentino).

After our studies of tango in Buenos Aires, we spent several years of practice and reflection, during the clases, workshops and exhibitions we gave in France and abroad, to build a tango pedagogy that is both demanding and accessible to all, whether you are a professional or amateur, gifted or passionate, with more or less facilities (see below and pages on our> pedagogy).

For the intermediate level II / advanced, the package includes 2h courses (instead of 1h30), as explained in our course design (> our pedagogy> advanced level).

For information and registration for tango lessons, you can write to us or call us. We prefer a biannual registration at a favorable rate (see above), but we adapt to your personal situation (if for example you can not follow the courses regularly, for professional reasons or other).

Our approach to Argentine tango

Learning Argentinian tango takes time, but we really want to ensure that, from the very first lessons, the pleasure of dancing is at the rendezvous ... since it is not a question of learning a succession of steps, but to develop a shared sensitivity, listening - through an argentinian technique and tradition.

Pedagogy: how to teach and learn tango?

To dance tango is the choice of a universe, an aesthetic, a sensitivity. To know our vision and approach to dance, the pages on our pedagogy of Argentine tango provides insights. We talk about the design of our classes, the question of dance levels. Two questions always come back:

  • how to conceive, teach and practice what are called the "basics" or "fundamentals" of tango? We are talking more and more about fundamentals, the "walk" as the basis of tango, without necessarily better understanding or teaching.
  • to what extent can other bodily practices and other dances support work on the fundamentals of the movement? As for dances, we draw inspiration from classical and contemporary dance; as for bodily practices, yoga, Feldenkrais and Pilates methods, and chi gong, close to Chinese energy.

Tango practice

The practice of tango in Paris that we propose allows to meet dancers of the other levels and to dance, to explore and to exchange on the bases and on the figures, in a spirit of sharing and a convivial framework. Our practice is open to all dancers wishing to practice this Argentine dance in an open mind.
